Joe’s Meals
My Brother’s Table has run a free dinner shuttle delivering food to an average of 25 critically ill individuals and families each week for over 18 years. Each week, 7 frozen prepared dinners and a week’s worth of easy to prepare or heat-and-eat meals and other staples are delivered to Lynn residents who are home-bound. These people have been referred by medical providers because they are too ill to come to My Brother’s Table, do not qualify for other nutrition programs, and are too young for Meal on Wheels.
Free Medical Clinic
In conjunction with Lynn Community Health Center, My Brother’s Table has operated a free health clinic with a team of volunteers, nurses, and doctors for over 25 years. Guests can meet with primary care providers from LCHC, an outreach case manager from the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, and receive basic medical care and personal care items in our clinic. Clinic staff and volunteers are able to spend time with the guests, offering comforting and caring advice in a less stressful environment than an emergency room or medical offices.
Meals for Respite Care
My Brother’s Table provides prepared meals and heat-and-eat meals for the patients in the Lynn Recuperative Care Center. Guests can stay at the Center while preparing for surgery or recuperating from illness or injury.
Meals for New Americans
Each week, My Brother’s Table supplies pantry staples and other foods to Lynn families participating in citizenship education.
Senior Meals
Once a month My Brother’s Table provides food for Greater Lynn Senior Services’ Community Cafe at the Lynn Council on Aging. This outreach effort is to provide a good meal, a social event, and a chance to inform seniors about the services provided by MBT.
CFFS/JRI
My Brother’s Table collaborates with staff and volunteers from Children’s Friend & Family Services to provide meals and nutritious snacks weekly for 70 families. These families have children who are coping with mental and other health issues and getting out to the Table isn’t easy for them. Our partnership with the CFFS program allows My Brother’s Table to reach new families, assist them with food, and acquaint them with the Table’s services.
Meals for Those in Jail
My Brother’s Table provides daily meals for individuals being held in the Lynn Police Department Lock-up. We do this to help our community and ensure that no one goes without a meal.
Art Therapy Program
Volunteer art therapists create art with guests during meals.
